Figs Baseball

A History of Champions

The Garage

It all started in the garage; with green and tan floor simulating the field, the white homebase in the middle, a batting tee and a net to catch the balls. It was the perfect little spot where the first generation of Figs Baseball players used to practice and train hard to become the great baseball players they are today.
In 2017, Jose Figueroa (aka Figs) started giving personal training/batting leasons and with the help of previous coaching experience, word of mouth and great reputation in Puerto Rico and USA, quickly formed a team of 14U and started traveling and competing in the best tournaments of the league.

The Warehouse

Figs Baseball Prospects, formely known as Figs Sports grew quickly and by November 2017 started operations in a 5,000+sq warehouse which was made into indoor batting cages with fielding areas, running, gym and even a full-sized outdoor pitching mound. It was used by many young athletes and by that time Figs Baseball grew into multiple teams from different age ranges.

Christian High School

In January 2020, Jose Figueroa started working for Central Pointe Christian Academy (CPCA) as an assistant coach until May 2021.

2020

While most programs were closed and millions of students stopped any athletic activity during and after Covid-19, Figs Baseball following closely all the safety guidelines resumed practice/training during summer and fall. This allowed the players to stay in shape and keep growing their skills. This was an important decision because it gave the opportunity to dozens of students from Puerto Rico to continue studying and playing in Florida since operations in Puerto Rico were stopped for over a year.

Creating Opportunities

In August 2021, Jose Figueroa in partnership with Osmin Melendez created the best private high school baseball program in the entire Central Florida at Reborn Christian Academy, Kissimmee.
